On April 20th, 2019, the Lone Star Wing joined the Pegasus Project and the SPCA of East Texas for their "Wings Over Pegasus" airshow and invitational fly-in. This was the 5th annual event and the first time the LSW attended. The event was very well run, originating out of Red Star (71XA) a private airfield located on the Pegasus Project grounds. The strip features a groomed grass runway 2500' long by 50' wide. The LSW Stearman felt right at home operating on this runway and the fun was shared with 10 riders. The members of the LSW pooled resources and contributed $30 to the Pegasus project for each ride sold on the Stearman. The SPCA of East Texas brought some really awesome fur babies to meet the friendly folds attending the event. The wing had a great time sharing WWII aviation history with the fine folks at Wings Over Pegasus and we can't wait to come back! Click the link below for pictures of the fun times at the event.
