2018 Lone Star Wing Pearl Harbor Remembrance Banquet

Wednesday, December 12, 2018
On December 7th, 2018, the LSW came together to remember the events of Pearl Harbor and how they changed our country forever.  Recently I've been reading (listening to) the book, Lucky 666: The Impossible Mission, about a B-17 crew in World War II.  The early chapters cover the war in the Pacific shortly after Pearl Harbor.  I did not understand how dire the situation was for the U.S. immediately after Pearl Harbor before reading this book.  I find myself with a new perspective on the events of December 7th, 1941 and a new appreciate for the generation that brought the full weight of our country's resolve to bear on her enemies.  I can't imagine the uncertainty that must have been present for that period of time, especially for those living in Hawaii and on the United States' West Coast.  I'm thankful for the sacrifices made by that generation to spool up the U.S. war machine so quickly and effectively.  December 7th, 1941 truly was a "date which will live in infamy."-Col. Page for the LSW
