It is that time again.
Our beloved 23 has served us well in 2019. We've attended many events, given many rides, and put nearly 100 hours on the airplane (which is a lot for our small unit!). There are always things to tweak and maintain and the most effective time we have during the year is our winter maintenance season. This is the time we take the aircraft offline for an extended period to thoroughly inspect and repair any issues we find. We don't anticipate anything major this year, but there are always things that come up. If you feel you'd like to support our effort to keep this aircraft flying you can help out in two ways:
1. Join us. We are always looking for new members. Members have the opportunity to work on the aircraft (after some training). You do NOT have to be an FAA certificated mechanic to twist wrenches on our aircraft. You need to be diligent and careful and you must jump through a few hoops (mandatory drug testing is required due to the nature of our rides program).
2. Donate. It's the end of the year. Every little bit helps. You can donate via check made out to the Lone Star Wing, CAF and sent to our address at 2020 Warren Dr., Marshall, TX 75672.
Our next meeting will be January 18th at 10 am (at the same address). Please come out! We'd love to see you and we always go to lunch after the meeting so there's an opportunity to hang out and share a meal together.
See you soon!
